Two attackers allegedly struck a man in the head with a gun before stealing his watch and cash outside an East Village bar early Tuesday, police said.
The suspects, who were strangers to the victim, approached him around 3:20 a.m. outside Josie’s Bar on East 6th Street near Avenue A and tugged at his fanny pack, according to authorities.
One of the men then pulled out a gun and repeatedly pistol-whipped the victim, leaving him with a bloody head wound, police said.
The pair fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, the victim’s Timex T-Cell watch and his passport, authorities said.
The injured man was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

The suspects escaped in a white vehicle and remained at large several hours after the robbery, police said.
The robbery occurred within the NYPD’s 9th Precinct, where reported robberies were down about 37% so far this year, based on data last updated Sunday.
The precinct recorded 58 robberies during that period, compared with 92 over the same span in 2025, according to the statistics.
