Wearing a denim shirt with relaxed blue trousers, Ardern kept a low profile as she browsed the aisles of a local Woolworths supermarket.
She accessorised with aviator sunglasses, sneakers and understated gold jewellery, while her hair was tied back in a simple ponytail.
After spending time in the store, she made her way back to her parked car carrying two bags of groceries and other purchases.
Although she is recognised around the world, Ardern appeared to go unnoticed by fellow shoppers during the outing.

The Sydney sighting follows reports that she and her husband, Clarke Gayford, purchased a $5.3million property in the beachside suburb of Dee Why.
In February, it was reported that Ardern and Gayford had been searching for a home in Australia, joining the increasing number of New Zealanders relocating overseas.
Details surrounding the sale have remained private, and the property’s address has been removed from its current online listing.
An older listing on realestate.com.au, however, described the residence as a striking example of contemporary architecture.
The five-bedroom, three-bathroom home boasts sweeping views stretching from North Curl Curl and Manly Beach to the city skyline and Bondi.

‘The family has been travelling for a few years now,’ a spokesperson for Jacinda told 1News.
‘For the moment they are basing themselves out of Australia – they have work there, and it brings the added bonus of more time back home in New Zealand.’
Confirmation of Jacinda’s move came after realestate.com.au reported she was spotted viewing homes on Sydney’s Northern Beaches with her husband and seven-year-old daughter Neve.
