Diddy receives earliest release date yet

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is now closer to leaving prison, with his projected release date moved forward once again.

The disgraced music mogul was originally expected to remain behind bars until May 8, 2028. That date has since been brought forward, according to updated records.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons now lists Combs—whose real name is Sean Combs—as scheduled for release on January 21, 2028.

Juda Engelmayer, a spokesperson for Combs, told Our News Outlet: ‘We never know how or why the BOP calculates and posts these dates.’

Combs was sentenced last year to four years and two months in prison after being convicted on two prostitution-related charges following a closely watched federal trial.

His projected release date has changed several times since he began serving his 50-month sentence. Most recently, it had been listed as February 5.

A jury found Diddy guilty of two counts of transporting prostitutes across state lines for the purpose of prostitution at his federal trial last year. He was acquitted of the more serious racketeering and sex trafficking charges.

During the trial, Combs’ former girlfriend Cassie Ventura gave graphic testimony in which she alleged that the music mogul had abused her over a period of more than a decade.

Combs was initially due to be released in May 2028, but the date shifted several times after he began serving his sentence.

His first projected release was pushed back to June 4, 2028, following allegations—denied by his attorney—that Combs drank moonshine and made an unauthorized three-way phone call.

He later received a reprieve in October, when his projected release date was moved to April 25, 2028. The change was attributed to the FIRST STEP Act, a prison reform law from Donald Trump’s first presidency that was prominently championed by Kim Kardashian and has contributed to the early release of tens of thousands of prisoners.

The date was adjusted several more times before reaching January 21, 2028—the earliest date on which Combs could now be released.

Combs has reportedly faced further trouble since entering federal prison.

Alongside the moonshine allegation, TMZ reported that he was involved in a fight with another inmate earlier this year.

Responding to the moonshine allegation, a statement posted on the Bad Boy Entertainment founder’s X account said: ‘The rumors claiming Mr Combs was caught with alcohol are completely false.’

‘His only focus is becoming the best version of himself and returning to his family.’

A spokesperson for the ‘I’ll Be Missing You’ artist also told Our News Outlet that Combs ‘has not violated any prison rules’ and remains focused on staying clean while serving his sentence.

‘His sobriety and self-discipline are priorities,’ the spokesperson said, ‘and he is taking them seriously.’

Combs’s representative also noted that ‘this is only his first week at FCI Fort Dix, and unfortunately, rumors will surface throughout his time there.’

‘We ask the public and the press to give him the benefit of the doubt, the privacy to focus on his personal growth, and the grace to move forward in peace.’

Just a few days later, however, Combs reportedly got into trouble for making a three-way call in violation of prison rules.

But Combs said he was simply speaking with his lawyer, who added that the head of legal communications was working on a statement for his approval to be sent to The New York Times.

Following his time in prison, the judge sentenced Combs to another five years of supervised release.

Judge Arun Subramanian said a lengthy sentence was needed for deterrence and that he was unconvinced that if Combs is released, these crimes won’t happen again.

The judge condemned Combs for his ‘savage’ abuse of Ventura and said he was making an example of him because he caused ‘irreparable harm’ to his victims.
