A Georgia man convicted of killing his McDonald’s co-worker in what prosecutors described as a revenge attack has been sentenced to spend the rest of his life behind bars.
Devin Riley, 35, received a sentence of life in prison without parole, followed by an additional 50 years. He was convicted in the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Quintavious Clark. According to local ABC affiliate WSB, Riley and Clark worked together at a McDonald’s in East Point, Georgia, alongside a woman who served as their manager.
Prosecutors said the manager was Riley’s girlfriend at the time and had been involved in a heated verbal confrontation with Clark. Fulton County prosecutors alleged that Riley returned to the restaurant several days later with the intention of retaliating against his co-worker.

Prosecutors said Riley arrived at the McDonald’s in a red sedan at about 2 a.m. on Feb. 7, 2025. Clark was sitting in his vehicle during a break when Riley pulled alongside him and opened fire, according to WSB. Surveillance cameras recorded the shooting.
The vehicle was a rental equipped with a tracking device, allowing investigators to use geolocation data to identify Riley as the person behind the wheel. Authorities traced the car to the home of another woman Riley was dating, where he had reportedly been before heading to the restaurant. After the shooting, investigators said, he returned to the apartment and removed the sedan’s license plates.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis described the killing as “a very stupid crime.”
Riley continued to deny responsibility during a jailhouse interview with WSB. Prosecutors acknowledged that the surveillance footage did not clearly show the shooter’s face, but argued that statements Riley made during recorded jail calls helped establish his guilt.
