Brooklyn Beckham fired back after fans harshly criticised his latest cooking video on Saturday.
The 27-year-old aspiring chef is no stranger to scrutiny over his recipes. This time, his attempt at the Italian dish spaghetti all’assassina prompted another wave of brutal online reactions.
Unlike traditional spaghetti, which is boiled in salted water before being combined with sauce, spaghetti all’assassina is cooked directly in a pan.
A tomato-based broth, usually made by thinning sauce with water, is added gradually as the pasta absorbs the liquid. The technique is similar to preparing risotto and gives the spaghetti a distinctly charred finish.
Some followers were unconvinced by Brooklyn’s version, describing it as “vile” and branding him a “spaghetti murderer.”
In response, he posted a Friends meme in the comments featuring Ross Geller giving a “friendly middle finger,” a more playful version of the rude gesture.
He also addressed the criticism on his Story, writing: “For all the lovely comments about me always burning my food this pasta is suppose to be burnt sooooooo.”
Several supporters defended the dish, explaining that the method calls for dry spaghetti to be placed straight into the pan to create its signature smoky, charred flavour.

Brooklyn Beckham responded defiantly after fans launched into his latest cooking video on Saturday

The 27-year-old aspiring chef regularly faces criticism over his recipes, and his spaghetti all’assassina sparked another round of fierce reactions

Brooklyn answered his critics with a Friends meme showing Ross Geller making the “friendly middle finger” gesture
Other commenters were far less forgiving. One wrote: “This looks… in a word – vile. It’s not even cooked properly,” while another asked, “Where is the REAL tomato sauce?” A third dismissed it as “Basically burnt pasta with jar sauce.”
The criticism continued: “This is not al dente, but al hammer,” one person wrote. Another claimed, “That’s how Meghan Markle makes her pasta dishes – a lazy way of cooking.” A further comment read: “A tube of paste, a jar of sauce, ready prepped garlic. that’s not real cooking oh and the spaghetti looks half cooked. No thanks.”
“The Spaghetti Murderer is the right name,” another critic added.
However, Brooklyn also had plenty of supporters. “Not gonna lie Brooklyn, that looks damn tasty,” one follower commented.
Another defended him by writing: “Interesting how many people criticise Brooklyn but still take the time out to watch his videos. Go Brooklyn.”

A third fan said: “It looks delish. Heck w the haters/food snobs. loved watching you cook and I’ll give this one a try.”
Brooklyn’s cooking content has repeatedly drawn mixed reactions. Earlier this summer, viewers criticised a protein pizza he prepared using his Cloud 23 hot sauce.
He faced another backlash later that month after alarming fans by making a pasta dish with seawater while staying aboard a luxury yacht.
The latest clip was originally posted last year before being reshared on TikTok on August 8.
It caused immediate controversy as followers watched the eldest Beckham son dip his saucepan in the sea to collect salty water to boil the pasta.
It seems Brooklyn may have been trying to trump his estranged dad David, who is also passionate about cooking and even completed a culinary course during his spell at AC Milan.
He told The Times back in 2013: ‘Funnily enough, when I lived in Italy, I took a six-month culinary course at a professional chef’s school and learnt to make real ragu and fresh pasta.

He also took to his Story to say: ‘For all the lovely comments about me always burning my food this pasta is suppose to be burnt sooooooo’

Instead of being boiled in salted water and finished in sauce, for the dish the spaghetti is cooked directly in the pan

However some of his followers weren’t convinced by his version of the meal as they claimed it looked ‘vile’ and even called him a ‘spaghetti murderer’

Others backed him up on this in the comments as they pointed out that the correct way to make it is by adding the dry spaghetti directly into the pan to give it a charred taste
‘I used to go there three times a week… I was obsessed with perfecting the risotto because it is difficult.’
Brooklyn is estranged from his family including parents David and Victoria and released a scathing statement about them in January.
He accused them of trying to ruin his wedding to wife Nicola Peltz and control him under the ‘brand Beckham’ name.
Brooklyn hasn’t been seen with his parents or siblings Cruz, Romeo and Harper since.
