Rob Lowe’s grieving family came together in Santa Barbara over the weekend to celebrate his son Matthew’s wedding to Emily Markus at a star-studded ceremony.
The wedding took place nearly two weeks after the death of Rob’s 13-year-old niece Fiona, Chad Lowe’s daughter, who died by suicide on September 29.
The outdoor ceremony was officiated by actress Gwyneth Paltrow, with Lowe and wife Sheryl Berkoff sitting in the front row, Page Six reported on Saturday.
Rob and Sheryl Berkoff are also parents to son John, 30, who was seated beside them.
Photos shared by the outlet showed several other celebrity guests at the nuptials, including Katy Perry, Adam Levine, Cameron Diaz, Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt and Maria Shriver.
Markus chose a strapless white gown with a train, completing her bridal look with a sheer veil secured at the back of her head.

The 33-year-old groom wore a classic black suit with a white shirt for the special occasion.
Matthew and Markus became engaged in 2025 after dating for several years.
However, based on wedding photos obtained by Page Six, it remains unclear whether Chad and his family attended Saturday’s ceremony in Santa Barbara.
Chad made a brief return to the public eye earlier this week after keeping out of the spotlight following his daughter’s death by suicide.
The actor returned to Instagram on Wednesday by reposting a video to his Instagram Stories featuring Irish writer Gerry Hussey.
His post came just days after his brother Rob Lowe’s son shared a poem in Fiona’s memory.
The excerpt came from a longer conversation Hussey had with Olivia Hunt on the On Healing podcast, during which he reflected on the nature of the soul after death.
‘It is a frequency. It’s an energy field. And we possess it all the time within ourselves. We are all part of the frequency,’ Hussey said. ‘We all possess direct access to that.
‘We both possess the human and the divine,’ he continued in the excerpt. ‘We are connected to everything that is. It just makes sense, and there’s nothing there but peace and love. So when we die, where do we go? We return to a state of peace and love.’

Although Hussey’s remarks resonated with the Lowe family’s loss, Chad did not add a personal comment to the repost.

The actor took to his Instagram Stories over the weekend and posted Emily Dickinson’s poem Hope Is the Thing With Feathers.
‘Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul, and sings the tune without the words, and never stops at all,’ the poem reads.
‘And sweetest in the gale is heard; and sore must be the storm that could abash the little bird that kept so many warm,’ it goes on.
‘I’ve heard it in the chillest land, and on the strangest sea; yet, never, in extremity, it asked a crumb of me.’

Emergency services responded to the family home at 12.10am on Tuesday, September 29, and the teen was transported to an area hospital, where the Medical Examiner said she was pronounced dead at 1.14am.
In a statement to People, Lowe and his casting director wife remembered Fiona as ‘a loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance.’
‘We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona.
‘She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives.
‘Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time.’
They directed anyone struggling with mental health to reach out to the suicide prevention helpline: ‘If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, please reach out to the 988 Suicide + Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.’
