Selma Blair allegedly missed several doses of her medication before a startling mid-air confrontation on Sunday, according to her legal team.
Her attorneys told the New York Post Monday that the actress also allegedly struck her head during the flight.
The 54-year-old actress appeared in court Monday, where she was arraigned on two felony charges stemming from an alleged altercation involving airline employees and passengers.
After posting bail, Blair was escorted from the New York City courthouse by police and attorneys as reporters surrounded her.
According to Page Six, Judge Indira Khan set Blair’s bail at $20,000 in cash, or a $60,000 bond or partially secured bond, after she was arrested for allegedly attacking members of the flight crew aboard a Delta aircraft on Sunday, which left distressed pilots asking for ‘medical help’ as they landed.
She appeared before Judge Khan on two felony counts of second-degree assault. Prosecutors allege she attacked a flight attendant and a Port Authority police officer.
Our News Outlet has contacted Blair’s attorneys and representatives for comment but has not received a response.

Selma Blair allegedly missed several doses of medication before her reported mid-air confrontation Sunday; she was photographed leaving a New York courthouse Monday.

Blair’s attorneys told the New York Post that she allegedly hit her head before the incident. The 54-year-old actress left court Monday after facing two felony charges linked to an alleged altercation with airline employees and passengers.
According to the outlet, Blair’s attorney Shawn Barnes told the court that the incident was not deliberate. “This was not an intentional assault. Ms. Blair missed several doses of … a powerful medication that controls severe neurological symptoms,” he said.
Barnes said Blair had traveled to New York City after completing a lengthy workday and sustained an injury during the flight.
“Ms. Blair boarded this flight after being on set and working extensive hours and exhaustive hours in the days leading up to this flight,” Barnes said. “Additionally, at one point, during the flight, there was an incident where Miss Blair actually fell and hit her head.”
He argued that the missed medication, exhaustion, head injury and altitude combined to leave Blair severely confused and disoriented.
Another member of Blair’s defense team, Joshua Reitzas, described her as “the gold standard” and “someone we should look up to,” citing her body of work and contributions to others, according to the outlet.
Judge Khan responded that Blair should not receive preferential treatment because she is a celebrity, the outlet reported.

The judge ordered Blair to avoid contact with the nurse she allegedly attacked. A criminal complaint reviewed by the outlet also alleges that Blair kicked toward a police officer.

Blair leaves the courthouse Monday evening following her hearing.

The actress’s attorneys said several circumstances contributed to the alleged mid-air incident.
The complaint alleges that Blair slipped her leg out of the straps on a stretcher and kicked toward the face, neck and chest of a Port Authority police officer while being transported by ambulance from Terminal 4 at JFK Airport.
After Blair was taken to Jamaica Hospital, she allegedly kicked a registered nurse in the chest, according to the legal complaint.
Both the nurse and the police officer reported being in pain after being attacked, prosecutors said, adding that the officer had a swollen jaw.
During the flight, authorities said that Blair struck a flight attendant and bit another one, leaving both with injuries, and one seeking medical treatment.
