Gov. Kathy Hochul and Republican challenger Bruce Blakeman clashed over federal immigration enforcement after ICE agents shot a man in The Bronx’s Marble Hill neighborhood.
“What was the guy doing in the state in the first place?” Blakeman said, referring to the man as a “gangbanger.”
“I back law enforcement, and I back the laws of both our federal government and our state government,” the Nassau County executive said. “I give our law enforcement professionals the tools they need to keep us safe.”
Hochul accused Blakeman of supporting what she called reckless actions by ICE agents.
