Katy Perry and her former partner Orlando Bloom may be called to testify in the long-running legal dispute surrounding the $15 million Montecito, California, mansion they purchased in 2020.
The pair were named in a new round of court filings connected to litigation between Carl Westcott, the veteran who founded 1-800-Flowers, and Bernie Gudvi, Perry’s business manager.
Westcott previously lost a lawsuit challenging the 2020 sale of the eight-bedroom, 11-bathroom property. He argued that he had been incapacitated when the deal was made because he was taking painkillers after undergoing surgery.
A judge ruled against Westcott in 2024 and ordered the sale to Perry to proceed. The court also directed Perry to pay the remaining balance on the home, estimated at approximately $4.06 million.
In recent filings seeking an emergency hearing, attorneys for Westcott alleged that Gudvi, who oversees Perry’s finances, “has not paid the amount due,” according to documents reviewed by Our News Outlet.
Our News Outlet has contacted representatives for Perry, Bloom, Gudvi and Westcott for comment.

Katy Perry, 41, and former partner Orlando Bloom, 49, could be subpoenaed in the long-running legal dispute over the $15 million Montecito, California, mansion the couple purchased in August 2020. The former couple were photographed together last year at the Vanity Fair Oscars party
Westcott’s lawyers said Gudvi “wired a partial payment of $900,000” on June 30 but still owes the outstanding balance, according to an October 7 filing.
Westcott’s attorneys asked the court to authorize subpoenas examining third parties Perry, 41, and Bloom, 49.
The lawyers described Perry as “Gudvi’s principal responsible for payment” and said Bloom is “a managing member” of the LLC that took title to the property on May 17, 2024.
Bloom, Westcott’s attorneys argued, “would have knowledge of the assets of his former partner” Perry.
Westcott’s legal team also argued that trial evidence established Gudvi as Perry’s business manager and the person who manages her finances. As a result, they said, Perry was an appropriate party to question about the unpaid portion of the purchase price owed to Westcott.

In an October 7 response, attorneys for Gudvi said it was “obvious” that Westcott was attempting to “harass” Perry, Bloom and Gudvi. They characterized the litigation as misguided settlement leverage connected to Westcott’s pending appeals.
Gudvi’s lawyers further argued that Westcott’s team had cited no law permitting post-judgment examinations of third parties such as Perry and Bloom.
They also said the unpaid balance remained unresolved because Westcott is appealing a June 2026 decision requiring him to pay “a total of $3,415,257.07 plus interest for Gudvi’s attorneys’ fees and costs.”

A judge ruled against Westcott in 2024 and ordered the sale of the Montecito home to Perry to go ahead

Westcott previously sued unsuccessfully over the 2020 sale, claiming he had been incapacitated by painkiller use following surgery
In a minute order issued October 8, Judge Joseph Lipner denied the ex parte application. The judge said Westcott “has not demonstrated any emergency” and added that, if he sought relief from the court, he could do so through a noticed motion.
Perry and Bloom began dating in 2016 and welcomed their daughter, Daisy, in August 2020.
The high-profile couple split in 2025. Perry later began dating former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that same year.
Perry in September told People of her romance with Bloom: ‘I wouldn’t have stayed in something for nine years if there wasn’t really important things to learn. Each relationship is a teacher, right? I had to let it go so I could move forward.’
She said of her romance with Trudeau: ‘I always wanted this epic legendary love, and I was talking to my therapist about it: Everything in my life is epic, but this is kind of the missing puzzle piece — then it showed up.’
Bloom has since been linked to Swiss model Luisa Laemmel, 28.
