Trump's women crisis is becoming a problem say White House insiders

Katie Zacharia’s chaotic five-day tenure as White House press secretary has underscored a defining reality of President Donald Trump’s inner circle: no position comes with guaranteed job security.

“This is an unforgiving universe, and loyalty provides no lasting protection,” an adviser close to Trump told Our News Outlet as Zacharia was escorted from the West Wing on Friday.

For some close observers, however, her rapid removal was not entirely unexpected—and her gender was part of the reason.

“It is objectively harder to be a woman in this universe. The scrutiny is microscopic,” said a former staffer from Trump’s first administration.

The White House, meanwhile, highlighted Trump’s effort to build what it called “the greatest administration in history.”

“Unlike the identity-politics-obsessed Democrats, the president evaluates people based on merit and qualifications—not immutable characteristics. That is common sense and what makes this country great,” White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers said.

Still, the 41-year-old Californian is the latest prominent woman to be forced out of Trump’s second-term team.

Kimberly Guilfoyle’s sudden exit as U.S. ambassador to Greece drew global attention this week. Kristi Noem’s dismissal in March was blamed on her failure to deliver on the president’s policy priorities, along with concerns that she was concentrating too heavily on self-promotion.

Trump is also reportedly sounding out trusted allies in private about whether to remove Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, who was once viewed as virtually untouchable.

The circumstances surrounding the departures differ—as rapidly as Trump’s Truth Social posts—but women account for most of the high-profile exits.

Guilfoyle’s collapse followed a series of damaging reports by Our News Outlet and The Wall Street Journal alleging ethical misconduct, pay-to-play activity and official State Department investigations into her conduct in Greece.

Guilfoyle has rejected the allegations as “false” and vowed to “vigorously defend” her reputation.

The latest episode played out on national television, where Zacharia confirmed to Our News Outlet that Donald Trump Jr.’s former fiancée had been asked to resign.

Just 72 hours later, she would become the latest personnel casualty herself.

Amid the turmoil surrounding Zacharia and Guilfoyle, another departure received comparatively little attention: Noem quietly left her post as special envoy to the “Shield of the Americas” coalition, the low-profile assignment she received after being dismissed.

On Friday, she said she would remain at the State Department as a “senior advisor.”

At the same time, the White House communications operation continues to experience near-constant turnover.

Zacharia only got a shot at the podium because Karoline Leavitt stepped down on her own terms in August, saying she wanted more time with her young children.

But many are getting pushed.

When Trump assembled his administration, he proudly showcased a formidable lineup of women at the highest levels of American government.

That was the case for former Attorney General Pam Bondi and former Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer.

‘What was meant to be a showcase of administrative discipline has devolved into an exhausting exercise in crisis management,’ one White House insider explained to Our News Outlet.

Half of the eight women originally tapped for top Cabinet and administration positions have vanished from their posts.

First was Noem, who was sacked in March after a pile-up of controversies: a widely derided taxpayer-funded ad campaign starring herself, mounting concerns over management and spending, and fierce scrutiny of her oversight of ICE following the deaths of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

The final straw, sources say, came when she told Congress under oath that Trump had personally signed off on the ads. The president flatly denied it.

Less than a month later, Attorney General Pam Bondi was ousted, after unhappiness with her handling of the Epstein files. Shortly after her departure, she revealed she was undergoing treatment for thyroid cancer.

Gabbard had long been a vocal anti-war crusader. From the outset, her tenure was marked by a persistent friction between her skepticism of foreign intervention and the administration's increasingly hawkish posture

With Gabbard, Bondi, Chavez-DeRemer and Noem out of their posts, the burden of female representation at the tip of American power has been reduced to just four remaining original figures: Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, Education Secretary Linda McMahon, Small Business Administrator Kelly Loeffler and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles

Chavez-DeRemer stepped down in late April amid a scathing probe.

It included claims that her husband made inappropriate advances toward female staff, allegations she forced aides to supply alcohol on official trips, and reports of an affair with her bodyguard.

She has denied wrongdoing.

Then, in May, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard announced her resignation.

Publicly, the exit was tied to her husband Abraham’s diagnosis with a rare form of bone cancer.

Behind the scenes, it was another story.

‘Trump wanted someone who would do his bidding. Gabbard and the president had clashed several times on policy ideas like the war in the Middle East and they both figured this would be the cleanest cut,’ a White House insider explained.

‘Trump demands absolute loyalty and expects immediate results. So that creates a meat-grinder environment where work-life balance is non-existent,’ one female administration official told Our News Outlet. ‘Not only that, but they have to walk the ethics line of being devoted to Trump and also doing the right thing.’

Now the knives are circling Wiles.

Sources say Trump is reportedly privately fuming over weak approval ratings and reports that Wiles’ inner circle, including her daughter, have been profiting off high-paying foreign consulting contracts.

‘She’s burned a lot of people,’ one GOP insider warned Politico.

Trump insists Wiles retains his complete confidence.

But on just two nights before Zacharia’s expulsion, his communications director, Steven Cheung boldly predicted that Trump’s second press secretary in his second term would be ‘remembered as one of the all-time greats.’
