Put your hooves where I can see them!
A runaway cow led police on an unusual chase through a New York town, even slipping away from an attempted lasso as she trotted down the road.
Maggie, a 4-year-old Highland cow, escaped from Little Cabin’s Farm in Carmel on Tuesday and spent the weekend roaming through the quiet Putnam County suburb, News12 reported.
Video obtained by the outlet showed the cow bounding along a roadway while startled drivers shouted from their cars and police officers followed close behind.
“Holy sh-t! It’s a cow!” one person can be heard shouting. Another exclaimed, “Oh my god, he’s running straight at my car.”
An officer was seen trying to lasso Maggie in the middle of the road before eventually bringing the determined cow to a stop, the outlet reported.
Little Cabin’s Farm said Maggie, who originally came from Massachusetts, is now safe and back with her calf after her brief adventure in the wild.
“She got a little freaked out and jumped out and went to the woods, so we were behind her for four days,” farm owner Marianna Brophy told the outlet.
