Alexander Brothers Sentenced to 30 Years in Prison for Sex Trafficking Convictions

The Alexander brothers were each sentenced to 30 years in federal prison Tuesday for sex trafficking after being found guilty of drugging and raping dozens of women over more than a decade.

Federal prosecutors accused Alon and Oren Alexander, both 39, and their 40-year-old brother, Tal, of using their wealth, influence and social standing to lure and sexually assault women. Prosecutors also alleged that two teenagers were among their victims.

The brothers must also serve 10 years of supervised release after completing their prison terms.

“Today’s sentence makes clear that this craven, sinister conduct is extraordinarily serious and will be met with serious punishment,” U.S. Attorney Jamie McDonald said in a statement Tuesday. “Our Office is proud to seek justice on behalf of victims, and we are deeply grateful to the brave victims in this case who came forward to ensure that the defendants can no longer harm others.”

Several women delivered victim impact statements in the New York City courtroom during Tuesday’s sentencing. The alleged assaults took place in multiple locations, including New York, while the Alexander brothers lived in Miami.

Through tears, some of the women described the enduring trauma and pain they said had become a “life sentence” of suffering. They also addressed the brothers directly as they spoke.

“I never imagined my first time to the Hamptons would become a nightmare,” Bela Koval said. “What looked like a beautiful place became a mansion of horror, a place full of dark secrets.”

Lindsey Acree told the court that she had decided not to read from her prepared statement.

Instead, she spoke directly to Oren. “Why? For you? Because you did some really messed up stuff. I don’t think, a life sentence doesn’t even begin to cover it,” Acree said.

Acree also spoke emotionally about her 8-year-old daughter, saying she would do whatever was necessary to ensure her child did not grow up in a world populated by people as “demented as you guys are.”

“I’m going to walk out of this room and I hope something I did makes a difference,” Acree said. Victims in the courtroom applauded as she left.

The women and prosecutors urged U.S. District Judge Valerie Caproni to impose the maximum sentence on each brother. Defense attorneys sought the minimum penalty of 15 years.

Before their arrests in December 2024, Alon and Oren had built high profiles through their luxury real estate business, earning the nickname “The A Team” while brokering properties in New York, Los Angeles and Miami. Tal served as an executive at the family’s private security company after graduating from law school.

A jury convicted the brothers in March on all 10 charges brought against them, including conspiracy to commit sex trafficking and several counts of sex trafficking through force, fraud or coercion. All three had pleaded not guilty.

In a court filing, prosecutors said the brothers had raped or sexually assaulted at least 70 women. They described the men as “serial rapists” who exploited their status as real estate heirs and their connections to celebrities. Prosecutors said the pattern began as early as 2001 or 2002, when the brothers were still in high school. An indictment alleged that they drugged targeted women, assaulted them after they became incapacitated and sometimes photographed the attacks.

During the trial, defense attorneys maintained that the sexual encounters were consensual. They argued that the brothers’ “obnoxious” or inappropriate banter “doesn’t constitute a crime.”

U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton said in a statement after the convictions that the Alexander brothers’ crimes “are all too prevalent in our society and all too often go unreported and unpunished.” He added: “The truth is sex trafficking and other federal sex offenses are present in many walks of life and we have not done enough to root it out.”
