A 15-year-old girl allegedly escaped from a rideshare driver who kidnapped her, attacked her in a Baltimore basement and left her with multiple stab wounds, authorities said. She reportedly fought back by striking him with a fire extinguisher.
Abubakarr Barrie, 23, is accused of taking the teen after she accepted a ride from the unlicensed driver outside her sister’s home last Thursday, according to charging documents obtained by People.
The girl told police she asked Barrie to take her to a Baltimore restaurant. Instead, court documents say, he drove away from the destination and headed in the opposite direction.
When she questioned him about the route, Barrie allegedly “immediately became violent” and placed her in a headlock, according to the charging documents.
Investigators allege that Barrie then brought the teen to his home, led her into a basement room and told her to put down her phone and remain silent.
The documents allege that Barrie assaulted the girl, removed her clothing and stabbed her.

The teen fought back, reportedly hitting Barrie with a fire extinguisher before fleeing the house.
Bleeding and unclothed, she ran to a neighbor’s home and knocked on the door. The neighbor gave her a phone so she could contact emergency responders and her mother, court records state.
The girl was taken to a local hospital, where she received treatment for five stab wounds and a collapsed lung, authorities told WBFF.
Police later identified and located Barrie using information provided by the teen. He was arrested and charged with attempted murder and assault, according to the outlet.
A judge denied Barrie bond during a hearing Monday. He is scheduled to return to court on Nov. 25.
An attorney for Barrie was not immediately available for comment.
