GAINESVILLE, Fla. — A man was shot at the Majestic Oaks Apartments, and the severity of his injuries has not been determined.
Multiple deputies with the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Gainesville Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at 5800 SW 20th Avenue, the address of the Majestic Oaks Apartments.
Deputies confirmed that one male victim had been shot. Officials have not released information about his condition.

Authorities said a large crowd gathered near the scene, creating additional safety concerns as deputies worked to investigate the violent incident.
The sheriff’s office is asking residents to avoid the area and remain at least 25 feet away from law enforcement officers under the department’s Halo Law safety guidance. The distance will allow investigators to work safely.
