KATSEYE canceled its concert at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena on Tuesday just 30 minutes before the scheduled start time, saying that member Megan Skiendiel had become ill.
The girl group explained the last-minute decision in a series of Instagram Stories.
“Unfortunately, Megan is unwell and unable to perform tonight, and we want to make sure she has the time she needs to rest and recover,” the group said in a statement. “We know so many of you have traveled, made plans and been looking forward to tonight.”
“We are incredibly disappointed that we won’t get to see you, and we’re truly sorry for the inconvenience.”
The group added: “Thank you for your patience, understanding and for always showing us so much love. We love you and can’t wait to see you soon.”

The venue also confirmed the postponement in a series of posts, writing: “We’re sorry to share that the KATSEYE show scheduled for tonight at Little Caesars Arena has been postponed.”
“Please hold on to your tickets, as they’ll be valid for the new date once announced. Ticket holders will receive an email with more information shortly.”
The venue continued: “We sincerely apologize for the disappointment and inconvenience, especially to those who traveled to be with us tonight.”
Insiders told Billboard that the group had held a VIP soundcheck without Skiendiel, who was resting ahead of the concert.
Fans had already entered the arena when a message announcing that the concert would not proceed as planned appeared on the venue’s large screens.
KATSEYE is next scheduled to perform at Chicago’s United Center on Thursday, provided Skiendiel is well enough to take the stage.
The abrupt cancellation prompted mixed reactions from fans on X. Some criticized the short notice, while others argued that the singers appeared to be under excessive pressure.
“I spent over a thousand dollars, took off work and made so many sacrifices to be here,” one user wrote. “I had a feeling this was going to happen.”

The Detroit venue encouraged fans to keep their tickets for a rescheduled date
“They had no problem leaving those merch booths open, though. I’ve been with them since [Dream] Academy, but when you mess with my money, I’m dropping you.”
Another fan wrote: “Literally canceled it a half hour before the show starts after everyone got to their seats. How considerate.”
“Thirty minutes before the show? You’ve got to be kidding me,” another user said.
“You’ve got thousands of fans, many of whom traveled for hours, paid outrageous ticket prices, hotel and parking costs, missed a day or days of school, and you pull this.”
One concertgoer recalled: “We walked in five minutes after the announcement went up on the screen, and the lights were on.”
“I feel so bad for all the little girls sobbing, but genuinely, when are they going to fit in the rescheduled date? I’m concerned. They need to make these announcements sooner.”
Others said it was clear that the group needed time to recover, pointing out that two members have taken hiatuses this year amid the demands of their busy schedule.
“They NEED a break,” one person wrote, adding that “these girls’ health and well-being are far more important than continuing when they are not fit enough to tour.”
Fans had mixed reactions to the last-minute cancellation on X, with some calling the notice unacceptable and others saying the singers were being pushed too hard
“I’m glad they postponed the show and prioritized the members, but I feel so bad for everyone who was excited to see them tonight.”
Another fan added: “They need to let these girls take 2027 off and rest. It’s clear they’re exhausted, and the company needs to recognize that.”
“Let 2027 be their year to rest, recover and regroup so they can return in 2028 with all members healthy, refreshed and ready for a new era. Their health should come before a schedule.”
The group is currently on its successful WILDWORLD TOUR, which has included sold-out dates across Europe and North America.
KATSEYE is scheduled to conclude its 2026 tour on November 28 at Mexico City’s Palacio de los Deportes.
