“Good Morning America” co-anchors Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos received stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Thursday, celebrating their longstanding careers in broadcast journalism.
The joint ceremony was held on Hollywood Boulevard and streamed live.

“GMA” co-anchor Michael Strahan, who received his own Walk of Fame star in 2023, served as the ceremony’s emcee.
Addressing the audience, Stephanopoulos described the honor as a “great gift” and reflected on the privilege of covering “the biggest most consequential stories of our time” and interviewing “the most interesting and inspiring people of our time.”
He also spoke about beginning each morning by helping viewers navigate whatever they may be facing, offering information and advice while, he hoped, putting a smile on their faces.
Roberts thanked Disney for supporting her career and encouraging her to “venture outside of my comfort zone.”
She also highlighted her professional partnership with Stephanopoulos, saying, “I cannot believe that we are the longest-running duo on morning television history.”
Roberts closed her remarks by thanking her wife, Amber, for “opening my eyes to everything and anything that is possible” and helping her believe that “we are just getting started on our journey together.”

Michael J. Fox, Niecy Nash-Betts and Debra OConnell, chairman of Disney Entertainment Television, joined the event as guest speakers.
In her tribute to Roberts, Nash-Betts said, “Somewhere, there is a little Black girl who will see your name on this sidewalk and realize that her dreams are possible.”
“We’re celebrating your courage, your faith, your kindness and the countless lives you have touched,” Nash-Betts continued. “Hollywood may be putting your star on the ground today, but you spent your life showing us how to reach for the sky.”
Fox said Stephanopoulos “takes his job very seriously and is proud of the work he gets to do.”

“He loves the people who watch him every day, and I’ve seen him on several occasions have a chat with them and leave them happier than he found them,” Fox said before jokingly suggesting that Stephanopoulos run for office in the 2028 election.
“Think about it — it would work, it would work,” Fox said.
Roberts’ and Stephanopoulos’ stars are located at 6290 Hollywood Boulevard, near the historic El Capitan Theatre.

Roberts and Stephanopoulos have served as “GMA” co-anchors since 2009, guiding viewers through major developments in politics, culture and entertainment.
Their work has included landmark interviews, breaking news coverage and personal stories shaped by decades of reporting.
“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to welcome Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos to the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez said in a statement. “They have become trusted voices in American journalism, connecting with audiences through their integrity, compassion, and commitment to storytelling.”
Martinez added, “It is a privilege to honor these two extraordinary talents with a double star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, celebrating their remarkable contributions to broadcasting and the lasting impact they have made on viewers across the country.”
