Palm Coast man shoplifts over $1,000 of trading cards, police say

Police say Thomas Singleton shoplifted over 38 boxes of sports trading cards from a local retailer.

BUNNELL, Fla. — A man has been arrested for shoplifting over $1,600 worth of sports trading cards, according to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities report that a man named Thomas Singleton, 46, was spotted at a Target in Palm Coast on Friday, September 13. Witnesses among the store staff reported seeing Singleton depart with several boxes in his vehicle.

Deputies were able to locate Singleton’s car shortly after, as police said that a felony traffic stop was conducted.

Upon inspecting Singleton’s vehicle, deputies discovered 38 boxes of NFL and NBA cards in the trunk, along with methamphetamine found in the backseat. These cards were returned to Target, where employees stated that the total value of the stolen goods amounted to $1,649.55.

Police said Singleton is charged with shoplifting – grand theft ($750 to $5,000) and possession of methamphetamine.
