Trump's MRI scan results released by White House

The White House has unveiled information regarding former President Donald Trump’s MRI scan conducted last month, addressing growing curiosity about his health.

At the age of 79, Trump had committed to sharing details about the MRI, especially as inquiries from the press arose about whether the scan was centered on his brain. These questions surfaced during his return journey to Washington from Mar-a-Lago on Sunday.

Concerns about Trump’s health have intensified following the July disclosure of his diagnosis with chronic venous insufficiency. There have also been allegations suggesting a decline in his cognitive capacities and a slowdown in his activities during his second term.

This medical condition, which affects the veins in the legs, hinders the effective return of blood to the heart. It can result in symptoms like swelling, aching, and cramping. However, the White House has assured the public that the condition is benign and commonly encountered.

In a statement issued on Monday, US Navy Captain Sean Barbabella, the president’s physician, provided an overview of the ‘advanced imaging results’ from Trump’s MRI scan.

The MRI concentrated on Trump’s cardiovascular and abdominal regions, revealing no irregularities and affirming his status as being in ‘excellent health’. Such preventative imaging is a routine measure for men of his age group.

Barbella said: ‘As part of President Donald J. Trump’s comprehensive executive physical, advanced imaging was performed because men in his age group benefit from a thorough evaluation of cardiovascular and abdominal health. The purpose of this imaging is preventive: to identify issues early, confirm overall health, and ensure he maintains long-term vitality and function.

‘President Trump’s cardiovascular imaging is perfectly normal. There is no evidence of arterial narrowing impairing blood flow or abnormalities in the heart or major vessels. The heart chambers are normal in size, the vessel walls appear smooth and healthy, and there are no signs of inflammation, or clotting. Overall, his cardiovascular system shows excellent health.

‘His abdominal imaging is also perfectly normal. All major organs appear very healthy and well-perfused. Everything evaluated is functioning within normal limits with no acute or chronic concerns.

‘SUMMARY: This level of detailed assessment is standard for an executive physical at President Trump’s age and confirms that he remains in excellent overall health.’

Trump last night lashed out at a reporter who asked him about the MRI as he flew back to Washington on Air Force One, stating that she would fail a cognitive exam.

‘[The scans] were perfect like my phone call where I got impeached. Absolutely perfect. If you want to have it released, I’ll release it,’ Trump said.

A second reporter followed up, asking whether the MRI was carried out on his brain.

‘I have no idea. It was just an MRI. It wasn’t the brain because I took a cognitive test and aced it. I got a perfect mark which you would be incapable of doing,’ Trump said.

He then pointed at the reporter who asked the original question, adding, ‘You too.’

Trump underwent the exam at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on October 10.

At the time it was described as a routine check-up but it was his second medical exam in less than a year.

The rumors about his health began earlier this year after people spotted a bruise on the president’s hand, as well as swollen ankles. It was later announced that he was suffering from chronic venous insufficiency.

However, other speculation has surrounded a perceived difference in the president’s energy levels when compared to his first term.

Trump slammed a New York Times reporter, calling her ‘ugly’, after she wrote a piece about the ‘creepy’ health rumors.

Katie Rogers co-wrote a piece about how Trump’s attempts to project ’round-the-clock energy, virility and physical stamina’ were becoming difficult for him to maintain as he ages.

His packed schedule has included flying more than 12 hours nonstop to Israel to broker a Gaza cease-fire in October, attending dozens of public events each week and holding lengthy, energetic press conferences.

‘The Creeps at the Failing New York Times are at it again,’ Trump told his followers on Truth Social last Wednesday. ‘Radical Left Lunatics in the soon to fold New York Times did a hit piece on me that I am perhaps losing my Energy, despite facts that show the exact opposite …

‘The writer of the story, Katie Rogers, who is assigned to write only bad things about me, is a third rate reporter who is ugly, both inside and out.’

The New York Times piece written by Rogers and Dylan Freedman claimed that Trump on average would start scheduled events at 10.31am during his first tenure, in 2017.

However, this year, the President started attending events later in the afternoon, on average at 12.08pm.

‘Name-calling and personal insults don’t change that, nor will our journalists hesitate to cover this administration in the face of intimidation tactics like this,’ A Times spokesperson told the Daily Mail. ‘Expert and thorough reporters like Katie Rogers exemplify how an independent and free press helps the American people better understand their government and its leaders.’

The overall number of Trump’s official appearances at White House events has declined by 39 percent compared to his first term, according to the New York Times’s analysis.

Throughout Biden’s time in the White House, Trump and his Republican allies slammed the Democratic leader over his old age, lack of public appearances, and cognitive ability.

Earlier this year, pictures emerged from the Oval Office showing Trump with bruising on his hand, which was sometimes covered up by makeup. The White House claimed the bruising originates from the president shaking too many hands.

After photos showed him with swollen legs and ankles, the White House revealed in July that he had been diagnosed with Chronic Venous Insufficiency – a condition where leg veins can’t send blood back to the heart efficiently.

Trump was also accused of closing his eyes during an Oval Office event about cutting the price of weight-loss drugs earlier this month.

A White House spokesman said in response to the reports: ‘The President was not sleeping; in fact, he spoke throughout and took many questions from the Press.’
