Netflix 'giving away' Meghan's jam to staff 'for free', report claims

Netflix’s Hollywood offices have reportedly become a storage hub for Meghan Markle’s unsold jam jars, with employees happily helping themselves to the surplus stock.

According to a report by Page Six, two rooms at Netflix’s Hollywood campus, specifically in the Icon tower and Epic building, are filled with a variety of Markle’s products, including candles, wine, and floral sprinkles.

One insider revealed, “There are literally two storage rooms brimming with As ever products.”

The source added, “Employees are just taking them—one person walked away with 10 items for free.”

An additional source confirmed the excess, stating, “There’s an overwhelming amount of overstock.”

The Daily Mail has contacted Meghan Markle’s representatives for their response to the situation.

According to Page Six, any unsold As Ever inventory was moved from Netflix’s LA office to another warehouse ‘long ago’.

Any remaining stock is being used for ‘gifting, sampling, and promotional use’, the outlet reported.

Meghan, 44, launched As Ever with Netflix in a collaboration that included two seasons – and a holiday special – of her lifestyle show, With Love.

It comes after sources close to the duchess denied that business had slowed down amid claims that vast amounts of inventory remained unsold.

Last month, internet sleuths discovered a glitch on As Ever’s website that revealed precise stock numbers for her ‘small-batch’ collection of spreads, honeys, candles, teas and wines.

For example, a total of 137,465 units of her signature Fruit Spread Box were available at the time, which Reddit users pounced on as a sign of declining sales.

Sources later told The Sun that the amount was left over from an initial order of one million jars, adding that stock is ‘flying off the shelf’.

‘I think it’s fair to say business isn’t just successful, it’s flying off the shelf,’ a source said.

‘Meghan inadvertently revealed that one million jars were ordered for that one product, and has only 130,000 left.’

The website bug was first discovered by Reddit user InfiniteSky55, who said they tried to add 200,000 of each item to their shopping basket.

Soon enough, other Redditors tried to verify these numbers themselves as screenshots posted online revealed more than 572,000 products in unsold stock, including spreads and tea items.

A similar exploit for her wine venture revealed more than 70,000 bottles were sitting unsold, including almost 7,000 Bruts, 46,000 bottles of Sauvignon Blanc and nearly 24,000 bottles of Rose.

Shortly after the post went viral, the As Ever website was amended to remove the exploit, with purchase limits put in place for goods.

Users can now only buy up to 50 spread gift boxes, or 20 bottles of wine. As Ever has not commented on the bug.

However, the duchess herself has previously said she’s increasing stock levels as she prepares to launch As Ever in other countries.

Speaking to Bloomberg’s The Circuit, Meghan said she had put in a purchase order for a million jars to meet demand for her lifestyle products.

‘It’s an incredible thing for any small business and any start-up,’ she reflected on As Ever’s first sell-out run.

‘We prepped for the second seasonal drop and ten-exed (multiplied by a factor of 10) our inventory. We thought for sure it would at least last for a couple of weeks – that sold out in a couple of hours.

‘The conversation goes from at the start of this year talking about a few thousand jars and lids to, “we need to do a purchase order of a million”.’
