Stock futures and government bonds wavered as investors geared up for the Federal Reserve’s policy decision and a batch of earnings.

Futures for the S&P 500 slipped 0.5%. The benchmark stocks gauge rose 0.6% Monday, its third gain in four trading days. Technology-focused Nasdaq-100 futures and contracts for the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.5%.
