Dominic Fike Falls Short of First No. 1 as K-Pop Superstar Blocks His Chart Bid

Dominic Fike introduced himself musically in the fall of 2018 with his debut project, Don’t Forget About Me, Demos. More than half a decade later, one track from that EP, “Babydoll,” has found a surprising second life after going viral earlier this year. The renewed attention has turned the song into one of the actor and singer-songwriter’s strongest performers across several Billboard charts, while also giving the original EP a temporary commercial boost.

Now, months after its unexpected resurgence began, “Babydoll” is still gaining ground. The track reaches fresh highs on multiple Billboard rankings and comes close to giving Fike his first No. 1 on one list, though it remains blocked by an unlikely pairing that has become one of 2026’s biggest hits.

Dominic Fike Returns to His Career Peak

On the Hot Rock Songs chart, “Babydoll” rises from No. 3 to No. 2. The genre-focused ranking tracks the most popular rock songs in the United States by combining streaming totals, sales and radio airplay, the same formula used for Billboard charts that begin with “Hot.”

The move brings “Babydoll” back to its best position yet. The song first appeared on the Hot Rock Songs chart in March 2024, though it took nearly two years for the track to reach the runner-up slot for the first time.

Jennie and Tame Impala Block Dominic Fike From No. 1

Holding firm at No. 1 is “Dracula,” the collaboration from Jennie and Tame Impala. The single has now spent 43 weeks on the Hot Rock Songs chart, including 13 frames in the top spot.

“Dracula” marked the first No. 1 on the ranking for both acts. It remains Jennie’s only entry on the Hot Rock Songs chart, while Tame Impala has logged 32 placements over the course of the project’s career — though these days, Tame Impala is effectively Kevin Parker alone.

Before “Dracula,” Tame Impala had risen as high as No. 2 with “Breathe Deeper,” which opened in that position in February 2020. During that same week, “Borderline” and “Lost in Yesterday” reached Nos. 3 and 5, respectively, in what was then the act’s most successful frame on the tally.

Dominic Fike Has Charted a Trio of Top 10 Hits

Fike has placed nine tracks on the Hot Rock Songs chart, and one-third of them have broken into the top 10. In addition to “Babydoll,” both “Mona Lisa” and “Elliot’s Song” have also reached the highest tier. The latter collaboration features Fike’s Euphoria costar Zendaya. “Mona Lisa” and “Elliot’s Song” peaked at Nos. 9 and 10, respectively.

Dominic Fike’s “Babydoll” Reaches New Airplay Peaks

“Babydoll” establishes new high points on three radio-focused charts in America this week. The single rises to No. 17 on the Alternative Airplay ranking, and also advances to No. 38 on the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart. On the Radio Songs tally – which measures airplay across formats throughout the U.S. – “Babydoll” crawls to a new peak of No. 36.

Dominic Fike Climbs on Nine Billboard Charts

“Babydoll” appears on a total of a dozen Billboard rankings this week and it leaps up nine of them. In addition to the aforementioned Hot Rock Songs, Alternative Airplay, Rock & Alternative Airplay and Radio Songs charts, the single also climbs on the Streaming Songs, Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and Hot Alternative Songs tallies, as well as the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S.
