A group of 50 Real Madrid fans have been ‘scammed out of £70,000′ by  a man claiming to represent a supporters’ club.

Reports in Spanish outlet Cadena SER claim a man describing himself as director of the Orgullo Vikingo club in Barcelona promised season tickets to the fans, which turned out to be fake.

There is no record of such a group existing in Barcelona, although the name may have been lifted from a similar organisation in Lepe.

One retired couple reportedly paid £3,500 for season tickets that did not exist and were threatened after contacting the club, as they told Cadena SER: ‘There were two season tickets.

‘He told us that since many people had died in the pandemic, there were many tickets. He threatened us. He told us that because we were older, that if we didn’t, he would beat us up.’

Others were also threatened with violence after asking about their money, with one told they would go ‘knife to knife’ among a string of insults that read: ‘You’re confused, but you’re a champion, you piece of f*****.

‘I will s*** on the remains of your relatives, my whole family has f***** them one by one. Son of a b****.’

Another was warned that ‘Madrid is very small and one day we will meet.’

A criminal complaint over the incident has now been filed, which Real Madrid will join. The club told SER they have ‘no record’ of the accused fraudster.

Bella Canales, a lawyer working on the criminal complaint, told the Spanish outlet: ‘We hope [the alleged victims] can recover by filing a complaint against this person and his collaborators. It is not only for fraud, but for coercion and threats.’
