SAVANNAH, Ga. () — Travel + Leisure magazine says pack your bags and head to Savannah.

The Hostess City made the magazine’s list of the 15 “Best U.S. Travel Destinations.”

Ranked at Number 4, just after Charleston at Number 3, Savannah earned high praise for its walkability, hospitality, and verdant parks, with live oaks adorned in Spanish moss enhancing its atmospheric charm. The city’s dedication to offering insightful narratives about its history through walking tours was particularly commendable.

Each year, the magazine invites its readers to participate in voting across various travel categories, such as the best hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines, among others.

This year, nearly 180,000 T+L readers completed the 2025 survey.

A total of more than 657,000 votes were cast. Cities were specifically rated on the following criteria

  • Sights/landmarks
  • Culture
  • Food
  • Friendliness
  • Shopping
  • Value

For each category, respondents chose a rating of excellent, above average, average, below average, or poor.
