It’s a huge night for Inter Miami and Lionel Messi, as they have a chance to lift their second trophy of the season in the US Open Cup final.

The David Beckham-owned MLS outfit face Houston Dynamo at the DRV-PNK Stadium, and all eyes will be on whether the Argentine superstar plays.

Inter Miami have already lifted the MLS Leagues Cup trophy in a brilliant second half to the season, and there is still a chance Tata Martino’s side made a shock late run for the playoffs, despite being rock-bottom for the majority of the year.

When and where is the game?

The US Open Cup final between Inter Miami and Houston Dynamo kicks off at 8:30pm eastern.

It takes place at the home of Inter Miami, at the DRV-PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Where can I watch and follow it?

Unlike the rest of Inter Miami’s games, which are all broadcast on Apple TV’s MLS Season Pass, the rights to the US Open Cup are held by CBS.

That means the game will be broadcast across all of CBS’ television and streaming platforms, with a star-studded analyst team on the ground in Miami, including Kate Abdo and Micah Richards, who take a break from their usual Champions League roles.

The game will also be broadcast on Peacock, and Telemundo for Spanish language coverage.

Is Messi going to play?

Hopefully, yes. All signs point towards him having some sort of impact on the game, even if it’s from the bench in the second half.

He missed the start of training yesterday and was spotted at Inter Miami’s facility making a phone call while his teammates were out on the grass, but he did later get his kit on and head out to practice.

Messi has been struggling with muscle fatigue, in part due to the relentless MLS schedule that he’s been contending with since joining the club.

While Inter Miami themselves are remaining coy about his playing time, the Houston Dynamo manager revealed that he expects the star man to be on the field.
