In her defense, Karen said that she did all this for her husband and GFW, quoting ‘it takes one spark to start an inferno’. Jeff went ahead to attack Drew Galloway and even bought out his GFW roster to ensure Drew as well as other TNA stars were taken out.

Regarding her personal life, Karen has married twice. Her first husband was Kurt Angle, a professional wrestler whom she dated for a year before tying the knot on 19 December 1998; Kurt is an Olympic gold medalist. They were married for nine years before Karen filed for divorce which was finalized on 26 October 2008 – the cause for divorce was due to personal issues which included emotional attacks from Kurt. He was also said to be having a problem with alcohol and prescription drugs. The two have two children – Kyra who was born on 2 December 2002 and Kody their son, who was born on 26 October 2006.
In 2009 Karen started dating Jeff Jarrett, the GFW founder as well as a TNA co-founder, and after a year they got engaged, and four months later married on 21 August 2010.
