    Who was John Bartrom?

John Bartrom owned and founded Jericho Home Improvements — an independent kitchen and bath remodeling company.

Before being a business owner, Bartrom studied at Indiana University Bloomington.

After receiving his degree, Bartrom worked as the vice president of sales at Jubilee Home Solutions from 2003 to 2006.

He then moved on to The Home Depot as the national sales manager of the bath remodeling department.

It wasn’t until January 2009 that Bartrom decided to build his own company thus launching Jericho Home Improvements.

    What happened to John Bartrom?

Bartrom’s sister Nora Schwartz reported to KMBC 9 Investigates that her brother sadly passed on January 7, 2024.

According to the outlet, Bartrom was shot near 63rd Street and Prospect Avenue in Kansas City.

Officials reported to the scene rushing Bartrom to the hospital where he sadly succumbed to his injuries.

“We are heartbroken over the loss of our brother,” said Schwartz.

“John was loved by those around him. He lived a big life and had so much more to give. Our family will never be whole again.”

Where is Jericho Home Improvements based?

Jericho Home Improvements is based in Kansas City, Missouri.

Bartrom revealed on his company’s website that he created Jericho Home Improvements in hopes of being different than other companies.

He wrote that he was “determined to be different” by putting his customers first rather than focusing on the money aspect of the industry.

According to his website, the company lives off a set of core values.

    These values include:

    • Create “Raving Fans” of our Clients
    • Taking Care of Our Jericho Family
    • Giving Back
    • Doing the Right Thing
    • Do More with Less
    • Be Passionate and Strive for Excellence
    • Being a Student of What We Do
    • Be Humble

He went on to say that by following these principles, his company became “the largest independent kitchen and bath remodeling company in the country.”
