Brittany Cartwright is flourishing after her split from Jax Taylor — just ask her newest furry friend! Brittany recently unveiled that she has brought a new puppy into her life, eagerly sharing all the details about the canine addition.
The Valley cast member posted heartwarming images of her dog, Dolly, on Instagram. In one photo, Brittany is seen posing lovingly with the puppy, and another shows her three-year-old son, Cruz, warmly cuddling the new furry family member. She also included some solo shots of Dolly, such as one of her snoozing on a comfy couch and another basking in the sun outside.
“Everyone meet Dolly. We just adopted this sweet girl [four] days ago and she’s as sweet as pie!” Brittany mentioned in the caption. “Turns out this ‘woman’ can manage her household, her beautiful son, [three] dogs, and a cat … all on her own. What about that?”
It’s fair to assume that her caption is a response to comments made by her ex-husband. During Season 2, Episode 10 of The Valley, Jax argued that Brittany should sell their $2 million farmhouse in the San Fernando Valley during a conversation with Jesse Lally.
Brittany Cartwright reveals if she plans to sell her Los Angeles house
Amid her many life changes, Brittany is not interested in selling the home she once shared with Jax and now raises her son and their many pets in.
“It is not going for sale anytime soon,” she explained on the Feb. 7 episode of her podcast. “This is another reason why I’m hustling, because I’m going to take care of my household and I’m going to take care of my son and I’m just very proud that I have been able to do all of this by myself. But yeah, this is my house. I’ve completely taken over everything and definitely not going to sell this baby anytime soon. I love her.”
Brittany did run into trouble during Episode 7, when she found out Jax skipped several months of mortgage payments on the home. However, Jax claimed he rectified the situation in a later episode.
Brittany made it clear that she now owns the Valley Village home and covers all the bills herself in an interview with People magazine from April. “This is my house. I’m proud of myself, that I could do it by myself,” she told the outlet. “I’m a girl from Kentucky, and I never even thought I would have a house like this… He does not help me at all, with any of my bills. So I’m just proud of myself that I’m able to do it.”
Brittany Cartwright’s home renovations amid Jax split
Brittany has ushered in many life changes after her tumultuous separation from Jax. In addition to adopting a new puppy, the Southern Belle also changed up her interior design style at her Valley home.
The former SURver opened up about her home renovations during Part 7 of The Valley Aftershow. She told Lala Kent that there are no longer photos of Jax in the house, adding that there is “nothing that you can walk in and see” that reflects former relationship.
The single mom took the renovation one step further, turning Jax’s “man cave” into a custom storage room for Christmas and Halloween decorations. She also redid the gym, giving it a “super girly” aesthetic with tons of pink accent pieces.
“You couldn’t tell that Jax ever lived there,” Brittany declared. “My front mat says The Cartwrights!”
