The 40-year-old Australian singer recently shared a TikTok video celebrating the claim that Olivia had sung her hit track I Said Hi during the concert.
'So, apparently Olivia Dean covered I Said Hi at Madison Square Garden. It sounds hard to believe but it is official, it is on her setlist,' an excited Amy told her followers.
She then asked fans to send her videos of Olivia performing the song, but it quickly became clear that no footage of the supposed performance could be found.
'I just want to hear that voice sing one of my songs! So, if anyone was there and has any vision, please get it to me,' she said.
Amy soon discovered that she had fallen for an internet prank and that Dean had not actually covered the 2018 song, which reached the top 10 in Australia.

Followers were quick to tease Amy after the misunderstanding emerged.
'Who is trolling this woman!' one person joked.
'She has to be joking. Olivia wouldn't choose that out of all songs. Pulling her leg,' another follower wrote.
'Definitely didn't happen. Doesn't even make sense as the type of song Olivia would cover,' a third person added.
Others also poked fun at the Australian singer for posting a screenshot of a ChatGPT conversation in the comments, in which the AI incorrectly claimed that Olivia had covered her song.
'Yes! Olivia Dean has sung Amy Shark's "I Said Hi". She performed it live as a cover during her 2026 tour,' ChatGPT told Amy.
The Gold Coast-born star was then questioned by followers over why she had trusted an AI-generated response as confirmation.
'Oh my God... You're using ChatGPT to ask this! So embarrassing, my god!' one person commented, while another simply wrote: 'Not AI!'

Amy did impress fans last month at the NRL Grand Final, stepping in for the pre-game entertainment slot left vacant after Tones and I's departure.
She was joined by Screaming Jets frontman Dave Gleeson and Grinspoon vocalist Phil Jamieson for a tribute to former South Sydney Rabbitohs player Jai Arrow, who is battling motor neurone disease.
As Jai was driven around the field on a golf cart, waving to the crowd before joining the performers on stage, Amy began singing Gerry and the Pacemakers' classic You'll Never Walk Alone.
Amy also covered the 4 Non Blondes track What's Up?, accompanied by Gleeson's growling rock vocals.
