Brittney Saunders reveals bizarre reason she named her label 'Fayt'

Multimillionaire businesswoman Brittney Lee Saunders has shared the unusual backstory behind the name of her fashion brand, explaining why she chose Fayt instead of the conventional spelling, “Fate.”

The 29-year-old influencer opened up about the decision on Monday in a lengthy Instagram post, walking followers through the thinking that shaped the label’s name in its early days.

In the video, Brittney said she feared she might somehow be “sued” if she used the standard spelling of the word “fate,” admitting she did not yet understand how those legal issues worked in business.

“I remember thinking to myself, ‘If I spell it the normal way, what if I get sued?’ I had no idea about any of that when it came to business,” she said.

“But the only reason I changed the spelling was because I was worried someone would come after me.”

Brittney has since learned that her concern was misplaced, but the spelling she landed on ultimately stuck and became part of the brand’s identity.

Still, the creative twist has created one lingering issue: despite avoiding the imagined legal problem, it has left many fans unsure how to pronounce the name correctly.

‘I genuinely cannot believe how many people have thought that my business name was pronounced “Fat The Label”,’ Brittney said.

Fayt The Label was launched in September 2017 while Brittney’s YouTube career was in full swing.
