Kim Kardashian Reportedly Made Millions in 5-Minute SKIMS Launch

Kim Kardashian is said to have made millions of dollars in a matter of minutes after the highly anticipated debut of SKIMS menswear drove huge demand and reportedly shattered the brand’s website traffic records.

The reality TV star and business mogul, 43, first launched SKIMS in 2019 as a shapewear label, but the company has now moved into men’s underwear and basics for the first time. According to TMZ, the release “broke website traffic records” as shoppers rushed to buy from the new collection.

Sources close to The Kardashians star, whose net worth has been reported at $1.7 billion, claimed that 25,000 orders were placed within just five minutes of the range going live on Thursday.

The SKIMS menswear line, which includes underwear and everyday essentials, is priced from $20 to $80. Its launch campaign also leaned heavily on star power, with Neymar Jr, Nick Bosa and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander modelling pieces from the collection.

Following the announcement of the expansion, Kim described the move into men’s clothing as a “major milestone” for SKIMS as the brand broadens its reach beyond its original womenswear focus.

She said: “The expansion into the menswear space is a major milestone for the brand, and a testament to SKIMS’ commitment to providing solutions for everybody.”

Kim also said she was “incredibly excited” to begin the next chapter for SKIMS, the fast-growing clothing and shapewear company believed to be valued at around $4 billion.

She said: ‘I am incredibly excited about this next chapter for SKIMS and cannot wait for everyone to experience our amazing range of products.’

Jens Grede, CEO & Co-Founder of SKIMS shared that men account for 10% of their existing customer base, so it’s a move that makes sense.

Towards the end of last year, the billionaire businessman expanded her brand to include pyjamas  and over the summer launched her latest swimwear eange with the brand.

What’s more, the Armenian beauty recently explained that the whole inspiration for her business venture was inspired by her own struggles to find shapewear that would match her skin colour.

She told TIME Magazine: “It started off with simply finding shapewear that was a skin tone that would match my colour.

‘I used to take my shapewear and dye it with tea bags and coffee in the bathtub. I always like to see it on myself. I can absolutely tell when I miss a few drops.”
