Billionaire Elon Musk promoted his ex-staffer Katie Miller’s podcast interview on Tuesday, leaving a supportive comment on her video with Vice President JD Vance. ‘JD is a good guy through and through,’ Musk wrote on X after Miller shared her podcast on the X platform.

The comment indicated that Musk is cautiously but publicly engaging with the White House despite his elaborate blow-up over Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ that passed on July 4 and his repeated frustration with the president’s refusal to release the Epstein files. Musk also shared an American flag emoji in response to a post from Vance endorsing the president’s decision to tackle crime in Washington, DC, after his former DOGE employee Edward Coristine was reportedly beaten up by a group of people trying to carjack a woman.

Miller, the wife of Trump’s Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, worked on communications for the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) until she left the White House to work for Musk before departing to start her podcast. The White House continues to tread carefully around Musk, despite his various public criticisms about Trump. Vance publicly extended an olive branch to Musk in an interview aired on Sunday. ‘I really think it’s a mistake for him to try to break from the president,’ Vance told Gateway Pundit host Jim Hoft in an interview. ‘So my hope is that by the time of the midterms he’s kind of come back into the fold.’

Vance added that he did not care about what he described as ‘minor little disagreements’ but wanted to promote unity among prominent figures on the right. He added with a chuckle he was not sure whether Musk would take a call from him but expressed his hope that the drama around his relationship with the president would quiet down. ‘I try to be big tent about this stuff,’ he continued. ‘If you’re patriotic, you’re not trying to stick your knife in the back of the president, you’re not trying to betray the movement.’

The vice president famously reacted in real-time to some of Musk’s initial claims that President Trump was in the Epstein files during an interview with podcast host Theo Von. At the time, Vance dismissed Musk’s claim as ‘totally BS.’

Vance was puzzled by the exchanges but explained that Musk was ‘an emotional guy’ whose ‘heart is in the right place.’ ‘I think that if he and the president are in some blood feud, most importantly it’s going to be bad for the country but I…don’t think it’s going to be good for Elon either,’ he said.

The vice president joined White House chief of staff Susie Wiles to speak with Musk in an attempt to repair the relationship after the very public blow-up. Trump has also been deferential to Musk when speaking with reporters about his relationship with the unpredictable eccentric world’s richest man. ‘I think he’s a good person, I think he had a bad moment,’ he replied.
