Elon Musk says that he doesn’t have a house to live in and is sleeping on his friend’s couches.

“I don’t even own a place right now, I’m literally staying at friends’ places,” Musk said in the interview. “If I travel to the Bay Area, which is where most of Tesla’s engineering is, I basically rotate through friends’ spare bedrooms.” The revelation from the Tesla and SpaceX CEO comes after Anderson asked him about the general disdain that people have for billionaires like himself.

Last year, the world’s richest man said that the one home he does own is very cheap.

“My primary home is literally a ~$50k house in Boca Chica / Starbase that I rent from SpaceX. It’s kinda awesome though. Only house I own is the events house in the Bay Area. If I sold it, the house would see less use, unless bought by a big family, which might happen some day,” he tweeted.
