Over the past seven years, a sprawling mansion in Encino, California, has welcomed a remarkable lineup of celebrity owners. Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner were first, followed by DJ and producer Zedd, and then Grammy-winning singer Meghan Trainor and her husband, “Spy Kids” actor Daryl Sabara.
Now, for the fourth time since 2019, the estate is back on the market. Anyone hoping to join its growing celebrity real estate legacy will need to pay $17,995,000.
Trainor and Sabara bought the property from Zedd in May 2024 for $17.125 million. After roughly two and a half years of ownership, they are seeking $870,000 more than their purchase price.
Set in Encino’s prestigious Royal Oaks neighborhood, the 14,779-square-foot estate occupies nearly an acre. Its amenities include six bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, a professional recording studio, a private pub, a movie theater, and an elaborate children’s playroom that would rival many commercial facilities.
From Joe Jonas And Sophie Turner To Zedd To Meghan Trainor
The home’s celebrity chapter began in 2019, when Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner paid $14.1 million for the newly built residence. Designed by Jae Omar, the contemporary estate gave the couple a spacious San Fernando Valley base for entertaining, creative work, and family life.
Jonas and Turner upgraded several parts of the property during their ownership, including the gym, spa, and security system. Jonas also added one of its most distinctive features: a private pub styled after a traditional Chicago bar, complete with a billiards area.
In September 2021, the couple sold the mansion to Zedd for $15.2 million, earning a $1.1 million increase over their original purchase price.
With his background in music production, Zedd was a natural fit for the home. The Grammy-winning DJ, whose legal name is Anton Zaslavski, converted part of the estate into a professional recording studio with a dedicated vocal booth. He also added a custom home theater, expanding the property’s extensive entertainment offerings.
Zedd’s stay was relatively brief. In 2023, he purchased another spectacular Encino estate for $18.4 million—a roughly 18,000-square-foot compound known as “Odin.”
He listed the previous mansion for just under $19 million in January 2024. Four months later, Trainor and Sabara acquired it for $17.125 million.
Before accounting for renovation costs and selling expenses, the deal gave Zedd a $1.925 million increase over his 2021 purchase price.
Inside The $18 Million Mansion
Located at 3904 Valley Meadow Road, the estate sits behind imposing gates and mature hedges that create a high degree of privacy. Towering oak and sycamore trees frame the grounds, lending the property a tranquil feel despite its location within Los Angeles.
A dramatic two-story entry opens into a sweeping great room with a fireplace, built-in bar, and disappearing glass walls that blur the boundary between the interior and backyard. The main kitchen is equipped with Miele appliances and custom European cabinetry, while a separate catering kitchen makes the home especially practical for large-scale entertaining.
Five ensuite bedrooms are located upstairs, along with a family room and an expansive primary suite set apart in its own wing. The suite features a sitting area, wet bar, multiple patios, a spa-style bathroom, and two walk-in closets designed to evoke luxury boutiques.
The standout feature for families may be the unusually elaborate playroom. It includes a foam pit, slide, climbing structures, an art station, and a concealed reading nook. Given that Trainor and Sabara have three young children, the space appears particularly well suited to their household.
The professional recording studio is another major draw. Installed by Zedd, it includes a vocal booth and production equipment, allowing Trainor to record and develop music without leaving home.
The outdoor grounds offer a pool and spa, putting green, outdoor kitchen, several entertaining areas, fire pit, and projection screen. A detached guest structure houses the pub, billiards space, fish tank, and movie theater. Other highlights include a four-car garage, extensive security-camera coverage, and a Control4 smart-home system.

Meghan Trainor’s Other Encino Mansion Took Nearly Two Years To Sell
This is not the only massive Encino residence Trainor and Sabara have brought to market in recent years.
The couple paid $6.55 million for another Encino mansion in December 2020. Formerly owned by rapper TMG Fresh, the property sat on more than an acre and included over 14,000 square feet of living space, a tennis court, pool, guesthouse, and recording studio.
After carrying out extensive renovations, Trainor and Sabara listed that estate for $11.995 million in June 2024, shortly after purchasing their significantly more expensive home from Zedd.
At that price, however, buyers did not emerge.
Over the next 21 months, the asking price was cut several times, eventually reaching $6.995 million in March 2026. The property finally sold in April for $6.835 million.
The final sale came in $5.16 million below the couple’s initial asking price and just $285,000 above what they had paid nearly six years earlier. Once renovation expenses, commissions, and other costs are included, the investment almost certainly fell far short of the return they had envisioned.
That outcome provides important context for the couple’s latest listing. Even celebrity-owned estates packed with luxury amenities and costly improvements are not guaranteed to deliver a substantial profit.
Will Meghan Trainor Make Money On Her Latest Mansion?
The basic financial calculation behind the latest listing is simple.
Trainor and Sabara paid $17.125 million in May 2024. Their new $17.995 million asking price represents a potential gross gain of $870,000, or about 5.1%.
That projection depends on securing the full asking price. Brokerage commissions, transfer taxes, and other transaction costs could erase much of the relatively narrow margin. Any money the couple invested in upgrades would reduce the potential return even further.
Trainor, who has an estimated net worth of $30 million, has made several significant real estate purchases during a career launched by the runaway success of “All About That Bass” in 2014. She has since sold millions of records, won a Grammy, headlined tours, and expanded into television and other entertainment ventures.
Her property portfolio has included a $4.9 million home in Toluca Lake, a Valley Village residence purchased for $1.695 million, and the two large Encino estates.
There is no guarantee the latest mansion will sell for its asking price, and the couple has not publicly explained why they chose to list it so soon after buying it.
Still, whatever the final sale price, the property already possesses a distinction that money cannot easily manufacture: a strong Hollywood pedigree.
Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner lived there. Zedd lived there. Meghan Trainor lived there.
Now, the question is whether another celebrity will become its next owner.
