Pauly D Talks Traveling With Kids, Trip He Planned Coming in New Episodes [Exclusive]

There’s no official release date for the second half of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation Season 5, but rest assured, reality TV fans — it is coming. We caught up with DJ Pauly D, who gave us the scoop on the trips to San Diego and El Paso, Texas where the cast filmed some of season 5B. Plus, hear Pauly DelVecchio’s take on what it’s like filming the MTV series with child co-stars!

As many fans have seen on social media, the cast of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation has been traveling to film the second half of season 5. Their most recent trip was to San Diego.

“[The trip] was dope because we’re finally on the West Coast,” Pauly D told us. “It’s easy because I’m in Vegas, so it was an easy flight.”

Regardless of where the trip took place, Pauly was going to be there. “I love doing the family vacations,” he said. “I get to see everybody and keep up with them. They all got so much going on, [so] it’s really fun to catch up with them.”

Filming ‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’ can be ‘unpredictable’ with kids

In recent years, the Jersey Shore reboot has really leaned into the “family vacation” portion of the title, with the cast bringing their kids along for trips. Pauly loves that aspect of filming.

“We have family days now and I get to spend time with my little nieces and nephews,” he said on our call. Still, as fun as having the kids around can be, Pauly admits they can be “pretty unpredictable.”

The Jersey Shore cast does bring babysitters and family along to help with the kids during filming, but as Pauly says, sometimes “the kids just need their mom or dad.” The cast has grown accustomed to stopping as needed to “make sure the kids are good” and then continue filming. “You always obviously have to put the kids first,” says Uncle Pauly D.

In March 2022, fans spotted the Jersey Shore: Family Vacation cast at a bar in El Paso. As Pauly revealed, that trip was his idea.

“I had a show in Texas,” says Pauly. “Everybody had some time off and I was like, ‘Why not make a trip out of that?”

In addition to attending his show, Pauly says the cast got to experience the city. “It was my vacation, so we did things that I like to do,” he said. MTV cameras documented the entire trip from their desert trips to riding four-wheelers, their taco tour, and even a tequila tasting. We can’t wait to see the footage from this trip!

Before we let the famous DJ go, we had to ask about the likelihood of more Jersey Shore: Family Vacation in the future. While unsure, Pauly’s hopeful.

“I hope so,” Pauly said of the show continuing. “I never know until I get the email [saying] ‘Alright, season 6 is a go,’ which I think it will be.”

He and his roommates have so much going on that they want to share with fans. As Pauly pointed out, “people [who] grew up with us like following us along on all of our journeys. We still have a lot more to show.”
