Toni Braxton and the family celebrated the life of Traci Braxton earlier this month. The family gathered to commemorate what would have been the late star’s fifty-first birthday.
Traci Braxton passed away on March 12, 2022, due to complications related to cancer. The Reality TV star was able to attend her son’s wedding ceremony months before her death. Toni Braxton officially announced the passing of her sister on Instagram.
“It is with the utmost regret that we inform you of the passing of our sister, Traci,” Toni told her social media fans. “Needless to say, she was a bright light, a wonderful daughter, an amazing sister, a loving mother, wife, grandmother and a respected performer,” Braxton said of her sister. “We will miss her dearly,” the recording artist continued.
“Traci passed this morning as the snow was falling,” Toni said of the atmosphere when her sister passed. “Our angel is now a snowflake,” Braxton added. Traci’s mom, Evelyn Braxton, also took to social media with a statement.
“Grief is hard to process but with your prayers, and God’s strength, we are made strong,” Evelyn shared. “We love and miss my sweet Traci but she is resting pain-free,” the family matriarch added.
Traci Braxton’s fifty-first birthday was on April 2, 2022. Several members of the family gathered to remember her in a beautiful ceremony. Toni Braxton and her sister Tamar Braxton also took to Instagram to celebrate “Tray Day.”
“Someone lied and said, ‘It gets easier.’ It doesn’t,” Tamar shared. “You just continue to live without,” the singer continued. “on your last birthday, we all were so hopeful and optimistic and said it wasn’t going to be your last one. We were right because Today and EVERY birthday we will celebrate you just like we said we would,” Tamar declared. “Our sisterly bond is unbreakable,” Braxton wrote. “We love you.”
