Greg Daniels Wiki Biography

Gregory Martin “Greg” Daniels is a television comedy writer, director and producer born on 13th June 1963 in New York City, USA, and is best known for his work on award-winning TV series such as “Saturday Night Live”, “King of the Hill”, “The Simpsons” and “The Office”. He has been nominated for twenty Emmy awards and has so far won four.

Have you ever wondered how rich Greg Daniels is? According to sources it has been estimated that Greg Daniels’ overall net worth is $50 million, acquired through a lucrative television career which started in the mid-‘80s. Since he is still actively working in the entertainment industry, his net worth continues to increase.

Greg Daniels Net Worth $50 Million

As a child, Greg was a big fan of “Monty Python’s Flying Circus” comedy series, and states that this was how he first became interested in comedy. Another influence were books by humorist S.J. Perelman, which he discovered at the age of 11. He later decided to attend Phillips Exeter Academy and Harvard University, concurrently writing for the “Harvard Lampoon” undergraduate humor publication. Upon graduation, he and his colleague Conan O’Brien’s first job was on the “Not Necessarily the News” sketch comedy series, but they were soon fired due to budget cuts.

However, after meeting Lorne Michaels in 1987, they were all given a probation period on the “Saturday Night Live” writing staff. During his work as a staff member, Daniels won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music or Comedy Program. His net worth was well established.

Greg decided to leave SNL and join the writing staff of “The Simpsons” in 1993 in the fifth season of the show. Despite his belief that he had come too late, and that the series’ “glory days” were gone, he actually achieved great success and received an Emmy nomination in the category of “Outstanding Individual Achievement in Music and Lyrics” for the song “Who Needs The Kwik-E-Mart?”. One of the episodes he wrote in the season six became the third in the series to win a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program. His net worth was rising steadily.

In 2005, Greg adapted the BBC mockumentary series “The Office”, and the show’s second season was named the second best TV series of 2006, and later won the award for Outstanding Comedy Series. His other notable work on television includes the series “King of the Hill”, and “Parks and Recreation” which has been named “the smartest comedy on TV” by Entertainment Weekly. When it comes to his more recent activity, Greg has been the executive producer of the TBS series “People of Earth” since 2016.

His net worth is unsurprising when out of the six TV series Daniels has worked on, four of them have been named among All Time 100 Best TV Shows by “Time” reviewer James Poniewozik.

Privately, Daniels has been married to Susanne Dari Lieberstein since 1991, whom he met while working on “Saturday Night Live”. His wife is the sister of writer Paul Lieberstein, who also worked on the set of “King of The Hill”. The couple has four children.
