With her marriage to Sam Asghari ending after only a year and an ironclad prenup in place, Britney Spears’ considerable wealth is once again in the spotlight.
In 2002, Forbes recognized Spears as the world’s most influential celebrity, and she has accumulated substantial riches through her highly successful entertainment career.
Her accomplishments include numerous hit songs, extensive tours, and a highly lucrative four-year Las Vegas residency that reportedly earned $137.7 million.
By 2021, Forbes estimated her net worth at $60 million, which was relatively low compared to contemporaries like Beyonce and Rihanna. At that time, she was incurring significant legal expenses due to her conservatorship and had stopped performing and producing music.
At the time, her assets were primarily held in real estate, cash, and brokerage accounts.

Spears has owned multiple properties nationwide. Her real estate holdings include a mansion in Thousand Oaks, shared with her estranged husband, who is 29 years old.
The couple splashed out $11.8 million on the property, though a vast chunk of that came from Britney’s fortune.
According to the prenup, Britney and Sam agreed to put the house into a limited liability company or LLC in the event of a divorce.
Back in 2020, the Wall Street Journal reported that Britney bought a property in Kentwood, Louisiana, her hometown, for a modest $29,362 in 1999. Her mother lived there, but Britney was known to stay there on occasion as well.
She previously owned two properties in New York City – a penthouse she sold in 2006 for $6 million, and a two-bedroom condo at the Silk Building she sold off for $1.48 million. The prices she purchased them at were unknown.
She has owned numerous multi-million dollar homes in the Los Angeles area, including the Malibu home she purchased during her ill-fated marriage to Kevin Federline.
That mansion was purchased for $6.3M in 2004 before it was sold off three years later for $10 million.
In 2015, she purchased a massive home in the area of White Stallion Ranch for $7.4 million. As of 2021, the home was valued at $10 million.

Since she and Sam tied the knot, Britney has added to her fortune by signing a $15 million deal with publishing house Simon & Schuster for a tell-all memoir titled The Woman In Me.
The star also returned to music by releasing two new singles, a new version of Tiny Dancer with Elton John, and Mind Your Business with will.i.am.
Britney also signed an underlying rights agreement for the jukebox music Once Upon a One More Time, meaning she can receive income from tickets sales along with touring and licencing.
An insider previously claimed to the New Yorker that Spears previously had a multi-million dollar fortune in the early 2000s, but it had been whittled down to only ‘a few million dollars’ when her conservatorship was established in 2008.
The arrangement doled out a $2,000-per-week allowance for the songstress, but her father paid himself around $16,000 per month to run the conservatorship, and her former court-appoint attorney Samuel Ingham III was paid a yearly salary of $520,000, according to the outlet.

It’s currently unclear whether the prenup states whether Sam is entitled to any money made after they married.
The prenup states Sam is entitled to ‘$1 million per every two years’ of their marriage, with a cap at $10 million after 15 years, according to US Weekly.
According to court documents, Asghari is asking the millionaire for spousal support and to cover his attorney’s fees, but it’s unlikely their prenup will be thrown out.
Sam has also allegedly waived any claims to Britney’s music collection, and his name is not listed on the deeds of their shared home in Thousand Oaks, California.

Asghari’s lawyer Neal Hersh said that things still need to be determined regarding their finances — despite their ‘iron-clad’ prenup in place that protects the singer’s premarital assets.
‘[Sam] has yet to determine the full nature and extent of the separate property assets and obligations of each party,’ Hersh wrote.
‘There are various items of community and quasi-community assets and debts, the full nature and extent of which are unknown to [Sam] at this time.’
A source told the outlet that it’s unlikely the prenup will be thrown out and that it’s more likely that ‘Britney will write a check to Sam and that will be the end of it.’
Page Six reported that Britney has hired celebrity divorce attorney Laura Wasser — who boasts A-list clients such as Kim Kardashian, Kevin Costner and Johnny Depp.
