Kaz Woods, hailing from Wales, is a talented ceramic artist competing in the 2026 edition of The Great Pottery Throw Down. She runs Kaz Woods Pottery, a business dedicated to crafting unique pottery and ceramic pieces in South Wales.
Currently pursuing a BA in Ceramics, Kaz shares her artistic journey: “My main medium is clay, through which I create sculptures that delve into the intricacies of the human form, capturing its movement and emotions. I also enjoy animating animals and natural elements in my work, crafting pieces that highlight our deep connection with nature.”
In addition to her sculptural endeavors, Kaz is passionate about exploring diverse pottery techniques, constantly seeking new and innovative ways to enhance her craft.

At 62, Kaz finds herself among the talented potters on the show, which is hosted by Siobhán McSweeney with judges Keith Brymer Jones and Richard Miller. Reflecting on her experience, Kaz exclaimed, “I still can’t believe I was selected as one of the potters for Series 9. It has been an incredible experience!”
“Still cant believe I was chosen to be one of series 9 Pottery Throwdown potters,” Kaz expressed her disbelief. “What an absolute blast.”
Speaking about her fellow potters in the show, Kaz said: “The best thing to come out of the Great Pottery Throwdown is the love that these 12 random souls have found for each other. My kith and kin, my clay family.”
