UPDATE: One hospitalized; police searching for suspect in U of I Campustown shooting

UPDATE at 10:30 a.m.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — A man is currently receiving medical treatment following a shooting incident in Campustown, as University of Illinois Police continue their search for the individual responsible.

According to a Saturday morning press release from the UIPD, gunshots were reported around 12:26 a.m. near the junction of Green and Fifth Streets in Champaign. Officers swiftly arrived at the scene within about a minute and found a male victim with gunshot injuries.
