DENVER — Police in Denver are investigating a shooting that left one person dead and wounded six others at a motorcycle club in the city’s Park Hill neighborhood early Sunday morning.

It happened around 3 a.m. Sunday at the private after-hours club located in the 5500 block of East 33rd Ave. Police tape lined off the parking lot of the Park Hill Center which appeared to be the focus of the investigation.

DPD said on social media the victims’ injuries were unknown. However, during an early-morning press conference, Lt. Matt Clark with Denver police said one man was pronounced deceased while six others were transported to area hospitals “in varying degrees of condition.”

“One individual has been pronounced deceased. And I have six additional victims, all adults, that are continuing to receive some level of treatment at area hospitals,” Clark said.

Clark said that an apparent confrontation inside the motorcycle club — Hell’s Lovers Motorcycle Club — led to the shooting that occurred both inside and outside the building with multiple guns involved.

“We do have evidence of multiple guns being discharged during this incident,” he said. “And anytime we look at these with multiple victims, multiple guns being fired, we consider the possibility that people who may have been hit by gunfire also had a gun and discharged one.”

No arrests were announced and Clark said they are seeking additional witnesses in the shooting to develop suspect information and to determine exactly what happened.

East 33rd Avenue was closed down between Holly and Hudson Streets as the investigation continued.

Anyone with information is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-713-9867.
