Alachua Man Arrested After Bike Rack Shatters Windshield

Staff report

ALACHUA, Fla. – Rahkee Tyrone Hall, 34, was arrested yesterday morning after police said he threw a bike rack at a vehicle and broke its windshield. During a search following the arrest, officers reportedly found more than 30 grams of marijuana.

An Alachua Police Department officer responded at about 6:29 a.m. on September 6 to the 15300 block of Merrillwood Drive. The victim told police that Hall, her former boyfriend, had thrown a bike rack at her windshield, causing it to shatter.

Police later found Hall, who reportedly acknowledged throwing the bike rack at the victim’s vehicle because he was upset with her. A search incident to arrest reportedly turned up a dispensary canister labeled for 14 grams that contained about 30.7 grams of marijuana. The officer also confirmed that Hall’s medical marijuana card was expired.

Hall, who is listed as a designated violent felony offender of special concern, has been charged with misdemeanor property damage and possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana. Court records show he has 13 felony convictions, all non-violent, and six non-violent misdemeanor convictions. He has served three state prison sentences and was most recently released in August 2024. Judge Sheree Lancaster set his bail at $7,500.
