On Monday, police arrested a suspect in connection with Sunday’s shooting in California that left six people dead and injured at least 12.

Sacramento police Chief Kathy Lester told KCRA that Dandre Martin, 26, (not pictured) was arrested on charges of assault with a firearm and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm. Three search warrants were executed in the area, reportedly resulting in the discovery of at least one handgun.

Authorities believe multiple people opened fire in downtown Sacramento on Sunday following an altercation. At least 100 shell casings were recovered from the scene, according to NBC. A stolen handgun was reportedly also discovered at the scene.

The six slain shooting victims have been identified as Johntaya Alexander, 21; Melinda Davis, 57; Yamile Martinez-Andrade, 21; Joshua Hoye-Lucchesi, 32; Sergio Harris, 38; and Harris’ cousin, Devazia Turner, 29.

Sacramento County District Attorney Ann Marie Schubert said in a statement issued to KCRA that Martin has not been charged with homicide.

An investigation is ongoing.
