The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office on Monday charged Martin with first-degree murder.

During a court hearing on Monday, prosecutors presented further evidence against Martin. They stated that he and Myers were in bed together, with her using her phone while he observed, according to a report from local Fox affiliate WJBK. It was then he allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed her multiple times, between five and ten, as per the prosecutors’ statement.

After he called 911, dispatchers asked the suspect to apply pressure on the victim’s wounds, however he said he couldn’t because there were too many, a detective told the court.

He stated to the dispatcher he stabbed her in the neck first because he “wanted it to take less time,” prosecutors said. In an interview with detectives, he recalled after he stabbed her he remembered her saying “baby, baby, baby, I’m dying. Baby I’m dying.
