A man in his 70s is expected to be charged with causing death by careless driving after a motorcyclist was killed in a horror crash in South Australia.
The motorcycle, ridden by a 37-year-old from Freeling, collided with a Toyota four-wheel drive at the intersection of Jack Cooper Drive and Brereton Road in Evanston, north-east of Adelaide, at about 6.30pm.

Tragedy struck when a motorcycle rider sustained severe injuries after a collision, prompting bystanders to rush to his aid while awaiting emergency services. Unfortunately, despite their prompt actions, the rider succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.

“It was pretty confronting, we couldn’t get it out of our heads for a while,” recounted witness Imogen McKay, reflecting on the harrowing scene.

The aftermath of the accident was described as chaotic, with Bailey Smith noting, “The whole front end of the bike was scattered everywhere across the road, [the] tyre was gone,” illustrating the devastating impact of the crash.

The driver of the car involved, a 77-year-old man, has been charged with causing death by careless driving. In addition to facing legal consequences, his driver’s license was immediately revoked.
