An Alabama man is behind bars after police found human remains who they believe are of a missing woman who vanished over the weekend.
On Tuesday, Florence police revealed they found human remains they suspect belong to 38-year-old Autumn Paige Strickland, who was reported missing last Saturday.
“Those remains will be sent to a forensics lab to be analyzed for proper identification,” Florence police Capt. Jason Fort said, according to Al.cim.
Logan Rogers, 28, of Florence, was arrested and charged with murder.
Fort indicated that the investigation into Strickland’s disappearance suggested she had been intentionally struck by a vehicle.
Police arrested Rogers on Tuesday at a house located on the 2200 block of North Wood Avenue in Florence. Fort stated that they escalated his charge from attempted murder to murder following the discovery of the remains at the property.
“Based on this discovery, his charge has been upgraded to murder,” FPD said in a news release.
Rogers remains behind bars at the Lauderdale County jail without bail. Check back for updates.
