The individual who admitted to killing four University of Idaho students at an off-campus residence in 2022 has alleged ongoing sexual harassment by fellow inmates at the maximum-security prison where he is currently detained.

Bryan Kohberger requested a transfer from J-Block to B-Block at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution in Boise through a handwritten note dated July 30, just one day after he was placed in J-Block.

In a “resident concern form,” Kohberger wrote about being targeted with continuous verbal threats and harassment, stating, “Not engaging in any of the recent flooding/striking as well as being subject to minute-by-minute verbal threats/harassment and on that and other bases [sic] Unit 2 of J-Block is an environment that I wish to transfer from,” which was reported by PEOPLE.

Flooding refers to inmates purposefully flooding their cells to disrupt the prison.

Five days later, he submitted another complaint with a guard, asserting that an inmate had threatened him with explicit comments, including telling him he would “b**** f***” him, and another inmate said, “The only a** we’ll be eating is Kohberger’s.”

The response to Kohberger’s initial concern form indicated that the issue of flooding is an “uncommon occurrence” in J-Block, described as “generally a fairly calm and quieter tier.” The reply suggested Kohberger “give it some time.”

Prison officials noted at the end of the sexual harassment complaint that “Kohberger feels safe to remain on tier 2 in J-Block.”

PEOPLE did not say how it obtained the documents but credited the Idaho Department of Correction for a copy they posted with their article.

Kohberger avoided the death penalty by pleading guilty to the murders of Xana Kernodle, Ethan Chapin, Madison Mogen, and Kaylee Goncalves as well as committing burglary. Consequently, he received four consecutive life sentences plus 10 years without the possibility of parole.

The Department of Correction didn’t comment directly about the concern forms but had previously acknowledged Kohberger’s frequent complaints about “taunting.”
