A car crash in St. Louis resulted to a death of the driver, while narrowly avoided hitting a toddler as the car crashed straight into a Lemay home.

A 73-year-old woman died during a car crash near the crossing of Kingston Drive and Telegraph Road.

The car crash happened at around 2:30 p.m. around the Kingston Drive and Telegraph Road intersection. Police are saying the car was travelling at an extreme speed.

The 73-year-old woman who died, and was also the driver of the car was identified as Cheryl Doyon of St. Louis.

The St. Louis County Police Department said the car crash after Doyon drove at an extremely high speed then veered of the road then hit an embankment at which the car went airborne crashing into a home.

The car crash caused damage to a total of two houses, one had a significant. The car Doyon was driving was completely destroyed. Doyon was announced dead on the spot.

A spokesperson of St. Louis County Police stated that Doyon may be driving at an extreme high speed due to a medical emergency.

During the car crash, a toddler was almost hit by the car while inside the bedroom of the destroyed house.

Derek Wentzel, 37, who was the tenant of the house that was destroyed during the car crash, stated that the car could have hit the 3-year-old toddler as the car narrowly missed the toddler by inches. Wentzel added that the officials that inspected their home told him that the house was beyond repair.

In a Daily Mail report, Veronica Schoettle, aunt of the 3-year-old toddler stated that her nephew was on a bed near the wall when the car crash happened. Fortunately, the bed was pushed along with the child during the car crash.

The car crash was captured in a doorbell camera footage which a neighboring house near the incident house shared, it showed the car travelling at least 100mph which is over road’s 40mph speed limit.

The Police are asking for anyone with information regarding the car crash incident to contact the investigators.
