Newly released security footage from Ohio’s Franklin County Corrections Center captures the booking of Michael McKee, a surgeon charged with murder, as he enters the jail.
According to WBNS, the 39-year-old McKee appeared devoid of emotion as officers processed him, conducting a pat-down and issuing him jail attire. This booking took place on January 20, shortly before 4 p.m.
McKee is facing two murder charges, as outlined in a warrant issued on January 10, following the deaths of his ex-wife, Monique Tepe, and her husband, Spencer Tepe, at their Columbus home on December 30.
During the tragic incident, two young children were present in the home but were found unharmed. Investigators connected McKee to the crime through security footage from the neighborhood where the Tepe family lived.
The police discovered the couple had been fatally shot after a family friend raised the alarm when Spencer did not arrive at his dental practice in Athens, prompting concern and a welfare check.
Police found the couple fatally shot inside their residence after a family friend became concerned when Spencer failed to show up to his Athens dental practice.
According to an affidavit, Monique Tepe previously told loved ones that McKee threatened her and had been abusive.
Investigators later linked his vehicle to the crime scene and found a firearm in his Rockford apartment that matched shell casings found at the scene.
McKee has pleaded not guilty and remains behind bars without bail.
