A Wisconsin woman who disappeared last week under suspicious circumstances has been found dead, according to the Milwaukee Police Department.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Emily Rogers, 23, was last seen on April 26 at around 4:30 p.m. in the 2500 block of West Becher Street in Milwaukee. Police said Rogers’ cellphone was found near Burnham Park, in some bushes near 36th and Branting.

Police shut down the park Monday while searching for Roger. Search crews spent hours combing the park for Rogers without luck. On Thursday, Rogers’ body was found in  St. Francis, Wisconsin, Fox News reports.

So far, no cause of death has been revealed and police haven’t said whether they have a suspect in mind, but previously stated they considered foul play in the case.

Friend McKayla Mackey told Fox 6 that she feels something bad has happened to Rogers. Rogers’ boyfriend, who has not been named a suspect at this point, was reportedly seen at Burnham Park when Rogers’ vanished, near the area where police found her cellphone tossed in some bushes.

Friends said Rogers is the mother of a 1-year-old who was initially reported missing, but later found safe. Police confirmed that the child was found safe and is now with Rogers’ family, but offered no other information.

The department released a statement following the discovery of Rogers’ body.

“The Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) is thankful for all the community members that volunteered to search for Emily Rogers along with MPD. Unfortunately, Emily Rogers was found deceased this afternoon in St. Francis. This remains an open and ongoing investigation. Multiple suspects are in custody related to this investigation. The Milwaukee Police Department sends our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Emily Rogers that are impacted by this tragedy,” a press release read.
