Three New York women were arrested on Thursday for allegedly attacking an airline security officer and a gate agent in September.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York said in a statement that Jordan Nixon, 21, Janessa Torres, 21, and Johara Zavala, 44, attacked the Delta security officer at John F. Kennedy International Airport after they were denied boarding for a flight to Puerto Rico. The trio allegedly refused to leave the jetway before punching, kicking, and beating the officer with his own radio.

“The defendants were belligerent, with one appearing to be visibly disoriented and possibly intoxicated, and another who was refusing to properly wear her mask,” the statement reads.

The suspects are also accused of punching a gate agent in the face after the employee attempted to help the security officer. They then punched and kicked the security officer in the face and body while he was on the floor, prosecutors said.

Torres, Nixon, and Zavala are charged with assault. Both victims were reportedly hospitalized for their injuries.
